This piece explores the emergence of tension between human morality and the natural world, symbolised through the snake and the unhatched bird. As part of a broader body of work investigating the conflict between freedom and deception, it blurs the boundaries of right and wrong. The work reflects the fragile moment when life begins, untouched by corruption or division – yet already shadowed by the inevitability of conflict. The materials used such as clay and paint on canvas, accentuates this duality: clay grounding the work in unity and earth, while the layered textures of paint introduce discord. Together, they embody both harmony and the break within the cycle of life.
